![]() Guy E. "Sandy" Burnette, Jr.Guy E. "Sandy" Burnette, Jr. is the principal of Guy E. Burnette, Jr. P.A. He has been a practicing attorney and member of the Florida Bar for over 30 years. He is admitted before all state and federal courts in Florida, the United States 5th and 11th Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court. A former prosecuting attorney, legal advisor to the Division of State Fire Marshal, and founding partner of Butler Burnette Pappas LLP, Mr. Burnette is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (B.A., 1974) and the Florida State University College of Law (J.D., 1977). Mr. Burnette also studied at the University of Monterey (Mexico) and the University of Madrid (Spain). He is fluent in the Spanish language. Mr. Burnette is the past Chair of the Property Insurance Law Committee of the American Bar Association, past Ethics Chair of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, past President of the Florida Advisory Committee on Arson Prevention (FACAP), and has served as the Legal Advisor to the Florida Chapters of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) and the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU). He has received numerous awards and recognitions, including Life Memberships in FACAP, the Florida Chapter of IAAI, and the California Chapter of IAAI; Award of Recognition from the U.S. Treasury Department; and the prestigious Silver Hammer Award presented through the office of the Vice-President of the United States. For over 20 years he has held an “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer review rating in the legal profession. |
